Is this the final nail in numismatic's coffin?

    It seems to me you can pretty much slap a legal tender label on anything and call it a coin.

    Most people will just ignore this sort of thing, but I can start to hear people laughing at the hobby, even people within the hobby think this is gettig a bit out of hand, how can we get new people to join up if the hobby can't be taken seriously?

    If there are no new collectors who am I going to sell my Mickey Mouse coins to in the future?

    that's because its not a coin, it is a silver statue stamped with a value

    Depends on your definition I suppose, I certainly wouldn't consider it as part of my collection or an area I would want to study, but dicitionary definition...

    i would buy that/want to. just like the ones in clawhammers post. but not as my stack as a cool display thing on my desk or on a shelf next to pictures that people can pick up and play with. but calling it a coin...neh
