I was wondering if anyone knew if this S.R. Mitchell 1 kilo silver bar might be a collectable type and a bit more valuable than the average bar?

I see on the Engelhard site this type of bar is listed with an estimated mintage of less than 2,000.

These are good premiums, but not much premium as those old PM bars...

I just found one of these ingots at the bottom of my safe, mine is 1.0084 kg weight and the serial number starts with a 21_ _:)

Had no idea that I even owned it, or where or when I purchased it!
I have recently found 2 very rare large Perth Mint vintage ingots the same way, once again no idea when or how they got in there.
This is a sure sign that I have been stacking for too long, I recon.

Or maybe it is a sign of early dementia or Alzheimer's disease?

This is why stacking for too long can be a good thing!
That's a beautiful kilo bar tho.

Yes, it sure can be a good thing Johnny, spring cleans in the safes can become quite an exciting adventure,
not knowing what you will find in there.

But it can have a downside as well, I had about half a dozen of the early 1 kg kookaburra proof coins which I
thought were in one of my safes, but now I cant find them anywhere.

I have no idea what happened to them, hope I didn't throw them out into the rubbish bin.
I sometimes take Stillnox sleeping tablets as I suffer from disk bulge back pain, and I have been told
that I sleepwalk and do strange things at night when under the influence.

Reminds me of a stacker who said he was looking out the window one day and noticed a lead curtain weight, and suddenly remembered where he had lost some 1oz gold coins. :)

If they were 1 ounce gold coins then they would be easier to loose or misplace.
But these were large 1 kilo silver coins in black cases and there were quite a few of them.
I am 100% certain that I did not sell them, because I sold some lunar and Olympic 1 kg coins and remember that well.
I was sure that they were in one of my safes which had not been opened for nearly 10 years, but now when I checked
they are not in there or in any other safe.
I have turned the whole house upside down without success.
They coins command a decent price on eBay, and if I have lost them for good then that's $10k+ down the drain.:(
