is this legit? (ebay purchase)

    i bought this coin off eBay. part of a set. 1x 2oz coin and 1x 1oz coin.

    this is on the 2oz coin

    the tarnishing around the edges. it looks like its been burnt or extremley hot at some point. what gives? have i been shagged over and need to go crack some ebay-seller skulls?

    No need to crack any skulls...some coins get tarnished like that with age. In fact, it can add value if it has a "rainbow" type look to it. Personally, I don't care for the look but it is most likely a genuine coin.

    I have seen Toning like that on silver coins
    I think it's been out of it's capsule & in the sun ,weight it
    if you can,and get it tested.Never seen them faked

    Thanks guys! What are other tell tale signs of faked/dodgy silver? eBay being my main stacking source, i wanna know what to look for...

    If it's in your posession, first thing to do is weigh the coin. Does it weigh what it is supposed to? Is the diameter correct?

    Hello,

    Get a digital scale with 0.01 grams precision and you can weigh the coins once you receive them.
    stay away from Chinese sellers and chinese coins ( until u know what you are doing ), only buy from
    sellers with at least 100 feedback on eBay.

    Well I just bought a fake 1906 liberty silver dollar
    From a dealer but no on feebay
    From what I have seen it's Chinese pandas & US silver dollars that get copied mostly
