I found this a few years ago, but until today did not know what it consisted of. Just thought it was a melted blob of silver maybe, but it is a lot harder then silver. I got it XRF tested today, I thought I would let other members have a guess as to what type/s of metal it contains before revealing the results.
Found whilst detecting in a goldfields area. The melted with intent bit is relevent. It has a very high melting point.
Its melting point is over 2000 deg Celcius. Gotta be a rare element doing that. 10 more mins and I will answer if someone else doesnt.
Hafnium or Rhodium... as far as i can figure out from google tells me.. both hard and have melting point close to 2000.. 50/50 guess i am going to say.... Rhodium cos until that google search i had never heard of Hafnium.. lol
