I said the same thing - it could hit 1 $. Can't see why. Here's one on Litecoin's price increase: http://www.primevalues.org/market-watch/litecoin-follow-bitcoin.htm It went up from 0.069 in early 2013 so high towards the end of the year that it has even surpassed 40 $. That's more than 579 times its initial price! Doge could go to 1 $. Why not? But I'd be curious how someone could turn Doge into cash or hard assets.
If it hit $1 it would have a market cap greater than bitcoin with the amount of coins currently minted so thats why I think why not.
What if an influx of new people to Crypto's caused by the Doge phenomenon led to the doubling or tripling of BTC's market cap ? BTC @ $30 billion = ? Doge. BTC has gone up how many % in the last 12 months.
The BTC market could also attract more people in, the price of a Bitcoin could potentially go to thousands. Why not? Let's say an imaginary scenario like this could happen (it's not that much of an exaggeration): 1500 $ BTC 80 $ LTC 1 $ Dogecoin ...and there's Novacoin, Namecoin, Primecoin, Terracoin and others... But Dogecoin has a special "magical appeal" to it. It's very cheap, it's trendy, it's CUTE So people will want it. Doge is also in the first phases, while the others have surpassed that. If Litecoin was 0.069 $ a year ago and it surpassed 40 $. That's close to an increase of 600 times 0.069 $. Then, where do you think Dogecoin could go from 0.0016 $? Even 0.1 $ would be a huge increase, but more than 600 times increase in price is required to reach 1 $. I think it's doable. Also because: the media is picking up on it and everyone could jump aboard on the rather cheap cryptocurrency. It's becoming very fashionable. Digging it is easier as well.
Not many people remember this. I'm guessing a good half of the people on SS would have to look up the relevance of it. Have a read of the numbers involved. http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2011/jun/30/myspace-sold-35-million-news
Yes, that's interesting, but where is the connection to Dogecoin? ...or do you mean cryptocurrencies can crash like that as well?
