I certainly could understand paying a good amount of money for rods, ingots, pellets, bars, or rounds of a rare earth metal like Osmium:

but not for common metals like magnesium / titanium.

How much of a handicap do you think one would need to have to be confident of playing for 1kg silver?

Ok, here is the proof of my zero handicap and also where I get to show off :D

I can't show any trophy photos I got from the present golf club that I am at because through the design of them someone can walk into the clubhouse and look at past winners board and know my name. So I have to show old ones.

Here is a photo of some of my trophies I won from my old golf club in late 1990s. Notice the big trophy. (The small trophies in the box are all monthly wins) Also, look at the Golf Club ID tag on my golf bag. Will show the flip side of that later. (Also, pardon the dust coz these are not my most treasured trophies.)

And here is what the big trophy says. I had to hide the clubs name so no one can find out who the club champion from that club was for that year.

    It says -

    "Club" 1998 Championships
    Men's A Grade Winner
    "my name"

I was the club champion for that year - the best! :)

For those who not know much about Golf when a golf club has competition everyone in the club is slotted in A, B, C ,D, E "Grade" according to their handicap so everyone is playing/competing against similarly matched players thus allowing a winner from each grade a chance to win something. And "A grade" is where the best players are. Everyone with a 0-5 handicap falls into A grade, even professional club players play into that category. That means I beat everyone in my club for that year, even the professionals. :) I had a 1 handicap when I won that trophy and after winning that my handicap dropped to zero and I continue to have a zero handicap to this day but I'm at a much better golf club now then that old one. :)

Basically someone with a zero handicap is about as good playing golf as a professional player in the sense that it would NOT be noticeable to someone watching them both play. They would both look like same caliber of player. Because I have a zero handicap I get to play with the professional players (from my club) regularly when everyone is competing in the monthly/yearly tournaments there. They usually beat me by 1-3 strokes a round which is not much/noticeable. But quite often I beat professional players by that same margin in a round too. That is just how golf is.

And here are the photos of me getting presented with that trophy in the clubhouse. I'm a private person so please forgive me for not showing my face. Also, can't do that because everyone would know then that I am an alien :D

I was still in the clubhouse cherishing my victory when many had started to leave. I was wrapped ! :)

The "private" golf club I am at now is Waverley Golf Club and here is the flip side of the ID tag that every member at my club must carry on their bag -

    Waverley Golf Club -

    http://www.waverleygolfclub.com.au/welcome/index.mhtml

Waverley Golf Club is home to the annual "Victorian Junior Masters Tournament" since 1995.

"The annual Victorian Junior Masters will again attract the leading players from around Australia and Internationally in 2015. A field of approximately 180 under 18's will tee up for the event commencing at Waverley Golf Club on Monday 5 January 2015. The event is considered Australia's leading junior golf tournament."

    http://www.waverleygolfclub.com.au/guests/golf/juniormasters.mhtml

Past winners there have been -

Adam Scott (former world number 1)
Jason Day (current world number 1)
    Aaron Baddeley
    Marc Leishman
    Michael Sim
    ect, ect, ect

There is the proof I was not joking about having a zero handicap and why I had good reason to be cocky before! :p

Also, I have a massive drive between 300-350 meters and the nickname given to me from many members/friends at my club is "skyrocket". That is real reason behind my username. :)

    End of brag! :)

    8 handicap is still excellent.

I remember when I had around 8 handicap I used to sometimes play on a public golf course whenever my golf club had ladies day or whatever and I couldn't play there that day. Anyway, when they join/teed me up to go play with 3 other players on public course, they usually think I played like a pro. I was God compared to them!
