"Copper is the new oil" and other views on the future of energy https://www.sovereignman.com/podcas...c5d369b5c9f26bda264555d836211d73038d2733b168f Gianni is especially bullish on copper primarily because he thinks the Age of Big Oil is coming to a rapid close. He believes that conventional gasoline vehicles will be increasingly replaced with electric cars, which simultaneously reduces demand for oil AND increases demand for copper. For investors, this presents an interesting opportunity. Copper remains one of the most important commodities in electrical infrastructure, so prices may very well rise much higher in the future as a result of what's starting to happen now. Take a listen to today's podcast, in which Gianni and I discuss the future of energy, as well as ways to profit from this long-term global trend.
Haven't listened to that podcast yet, and am not negative copper itself. But you could find that its a new 'hook', a renewed investment theme that does not mean a true increase in the potential of related companies or their stocks. Think silver, then think AYC or CCU as an example (they're both defunct). Think Lithium then think PIO. Think uranium, rare earths, gold and any number of small companies that didnt profit from a shift up in the commodity, although their stocks might have gone up temporarily on sentiment.
I know EXACTLEY what you are saying. PIO is an excellent example. I do not have any play money at the moment. (New bathroom). This is my head at the moment looking all around.....................
