Do you long to get home so you can whip it out and touch it? Do you ignore family and friends and lock yourself in a room so you can count it out over and over again? Do you wait until the wife has gone out shopping then lay a rubber sheet on the dining room floor, empty your stash on to the rubber sheet, remove your clothing, cover yourself in bacon fat, then go 'silver snorkelling'? Just how much do you love your silver?
I have 4 x 10oz SC stacker bars on my desk that I play with,I'm waiting on 2 more & I'm going to start building a house out of stacker bars When I had all my jewellry I used to fondle each piece every day ,just to make sure it was still there I need more stacker bars I need more stacker bars I need more stacker bars I don't have a problem ,the rest of the world does If I need to convience you Give me a minute I need to get my REALLY BIG HAMMER Oh did I say I need more stacker bars
Not as much as you do but I do keep my recently acquired Panda and Koala next to my computer and look at a few times a day
I must admit that I have a special place in my heart for my 2011 koala and kookaburra 10 ouncers, they're just the right size for playing with. I've had the kilo ones before but they're a bit 'industrial' in size.
I wouldn't say I love my metal, I am obsessed with it a bit, but I reckon that's mostly a honeymoon phase that will slow down with time stacking. I do break out my stash about once a week to have a look at it. I initially bought silver as an investment and its become a hobby. I think my gold coins are my favorite though I have a half sov and a quarter eagle that make me wonder who had this coin and what did they buy with it 100 years ago. In some ways they feel more precious than my maples. I just want to buy a little bit on the dips and keep stacking until I know what I want to do with it. I don't think I'll ever sell it all but probably most one day when I'm old and the price is right.
I am not going to touch that line. Silver is just an investment for me. The coins are nice, but I will reluctantly part with all or almost all of them when the time comes.
"He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity." - Ecclesiastes 5:10
I have 23 Kg of dirty 50% pre decimals, mostly shillings so every night I get 5 of them out and give them a good clean to get all the dirt off, then a quick going over with bi-carb to bring them up to a shine. To be honest I am getting sick of them! I was doing 20 a night but it got too tedious. Five is OK and my aim is to fill a treasure chest with gleaming silver coins. Then I will run my hand through them and lift them up into the air and watch them cascade back into the chest. If I do that now I have to wash my hands afterwards. I may laugh maniacly as I do this but I haven't decided on that yet. I have my silver for my collection, such as the liberty dollars, which I really like and I will keep regardless of what the silver price does, and I have my investment stash, which I will gladly part with at the right price. Approximately 5% is silver I actually want to keep hold of, the rest is all good to go.
Yo have to laugh manically as you do it... its perfectly natural... I personally prefer playing with my missus' chest. Much more fulfilling - but then again, I can't sell her if I get caught short...
Dude, just go to Woolworths and buy a dozen bottles of cloudy ammonia for like $15, and soak the lot in a bucket for a few hours. Rinse, dry and play.
I always without fail keep an eagle and a philly in my pocket.I show as many people as possible that are interested.
^^^ Agree with this statement - happy to take the hat round the forum to chip in for the councilling...most concerned what Lurkalot wrote without a smiley face or LOL... Certianly none of the above. Buy,check to invoice, stack. Thats it...once a year quick 'head count' Don't want to get too attached...seperation will be easier
