How many here trade gold for silver, and back again depending on the GSR? And if you do, what target numbers do you consider swapping triggers? Personally I'm hoping for an ultimate GSR in the teens. I think I'd have a very difficult time trading gold for silver at anything under 30 though, as it has been so often known for jumping up when it gets anywhere near that area. I'd trade all my gold for silver though, if the GSR went back up to 75+ I think. In the 50's like it is now, I like to have a 50/50 gold silver holding by value.
Not in the trading game as yet Recon. Still hunting and gathering. We spoke briefly the other day about this and the concept is fascinating. Rather like the story told by Maloney. Interested to see what the stacker population has to say.
buying silver and trading it for gold later will be a sound action, the relative performance favor silver more than gold currently. personally I don't play the GSR, I take profit on them. such as, when I swap my silver for gold at 32 oz for 1 gold oz, then the ratio went to 45, then I realised my gain in silver from the point I started. so in the end I ended up with more silver, hope can do it once or twice in a year.
As with euphoria, i don't trade much meal for metal. I do buy according to the GSR though. Right now i'd buy more silver. Dandan - yes i have factored in premiums in my trades.
When I review the dollar value of the whole stack, I usually include premiums I'm likely to get if I sold privately. Nobody sells investment coins (kooks etc) for spot privately. I ignore buy-back prices of dealers, as they are always highly deflated. Only thing I'd consider selling at-spot would be ugly cast bars.
