Reckon they will go quicker than previous Kooks purely due to many missing out on dragons so they will park their surplus funds in the Kooks.

People definitely won't be parking their funds in the 2012 Koala :p

    ....my 2 cents

Up front in the wild the 2012 kooks look better than they do in their advertising. I still think the 2011 design was the best

i thought the 2011 was pretty ugly, but when i saw one IRL it was much nicer. I think 2012 is okay, some of those late 90s ones were pretty whatever. In a market where ASE and Panda mintages are in the tens of millions, i don't think a measly half mil mintage will last long. Having said that, i don't plan to buy anything from the Perth mint this year.

I stuffed up on that score. Bought 100 x koala's from Gainsville earlier in the year when kooks were also available at exactly the same price. I flipped a coin and flipped 'wrong" when deciding "kooks or koalas". :(

UBER OPPPS!!! Sounds like you've learnt from your mistakes.. still could of gone all-in at $49 with the 2011 koalas (epic fail).. sorry if this is what you did!

PS Luckylukeonline: i got a very unusual Hitler coin the other week ive never seen before.. you collect Nazi Era coins right? (also: is your name from the 80's cartoon Bang bang lucky luke?)

You mean like the movie 'Lucky Luke and the Ballad of Dalton'?

Re kooks, i think they will be around for a while. Absolutely agree that i don't like the design but disagree that 2011 was the best. For me it was 2007 and 2008 as the best design.

re: Hitler coin. Third Reich didn't mint any of these as currency. There are one or two medallion "coins" around. Also some post war "fantasy" coins. PM me and we can discuss a little further.

re: name. :) Yes, it was a play on the 1980's cowboy cartoon figure. :)

I prefer the fat pigeon that is the 2010 coin, kinda cute :) (and not just because it had a 300k mintage, though at the time when I bought them I didn't know that).

The feet/talons on the 2011 coin look a bit odd IMO
