This is a heartbreaking story of Victorian Police cruelty.

I must say that our politicians and senior public servants have learnt a lot from the Milgrim experiment of the early 1960's. Whilst I believe there are some in the various state police forces that actually enjoy and get a kick out of being able to act in such a way, I think many others are weak (or scared cos of the need of the job) to stand up against / voice opposition to what we in the general public deem unacceptable actions / over the top enforcement of policy by the police who hide behind the fact as spannermonkey noted "I'm only doing my job".

Prior to undertaking the Milgrim experiment, the scientists predicted that less than 1% of test subjects would do as they were told right through to the end of the experiment due to the nature of the experiment. The experiment however showed, approx 50% of all test subjects carried out the experiment as directed.

For those not aware of the Milgram experiment, here's the doco on it from the 1960's. Note: This experiment has been carried out again over the years following, with results essentially the same. ie people will do anything as long as they believe someone of authority is telling them too...even if the ethical nature of the actions they are asked to carry out would not be done by that individual if not directed by someone in authority.

and they are only doing their job, its their bosses aka the arsehole government running the state telling them what todo that is the problem.

why we always blame the guy at the bottom who has to follow orders as the problem is beyond me. its the head of the snake that needs cutting off.

police are there to follow orders outlined from above,
the laws are the problem not the guys enforcing them. Police arent there to give hugs and kisses to people.

then go throw shit at the guy at the top, other wise all your doing is attacking the small guy which makes no difference what so ever.

the guys your attacking with the whole Nazi analogy are the guys who would save your life in a heart beat. that prick at the top who makes the laws would walk past you while your laying on the ground bleeding out.

All for standing up for what you believe in, but stand upto the right people.
plus id rather fight one politician over 500000 police officers lol
That politician would much rather you take the fight up with the cops also, no skin of his nose
