Since the dragon is the fifth animal in the Chinese zodiac when is the mint planning on releasing the rat, ox, tiger, and rabbit in high relief? Am I missing something?

The dragon is the first sign to be released in the high relief version. Not sure if it is a one off or if they will do it for all the other Lunars.

As its a lunar cycle assume start point dragon.. will finish at the end of the cycle.

One logical methodology anyway .. wheather or not the Half Relief series has enough steam to power through to the next Dragon issue i wonder but will see.

I always thought Lunar start from Rat? I could have remember the story wrongly. But I think it is Rat, as the world leader/dictator was born under this sign :D

The first Perth Mint Lunar series began with the Rabbit.

i think it depend on how PM catagorize this series, is it part of lunars or high relief(similar with koala, kook etc)?
if it similar with other high relief, maybe they will release 2-3 coin in a year so it only take couple year to collect all the coin :D.
    not so sure:lol:

I have a feeling PM is going to release a 4set high relief (lunar, kooks, koala, kangaroo), with a presentation box. RRP $499

What 1for1 said makes the most sense to me and is what I figured. Thought maybe someone in AUS would know the skinny on this.
I don't expect PM to be minting rat, ox, tiger, or rabbits in the year of the snake.
Hopefully they won't go crazy with these. If they keep it to the kook, koala, roo, and lunar with low mintages that would be fine with me.
I enjoy collecting these to appease the collector in me. Of course I'd like to see them maintain price or appreciate but I'm not buying to flip.
    Thanks for the comments.

Thanks for catching that Alor! :) The link I posted above was to the wrong set.

With this new four coin HR set does it mean the 7500 mintage for the HR snake got increased?

There's really nothing special about them. High relief means the raised areas on the coin are higher and more defined than on a standard bullion coin.

Bloomst is correct on the set of High Relief (Dragon, Kook, Koala, and Kangaroo)
Mintage is 1000. I think it is a mistake since there is nothing new about this release anymore. They should have done Mouse, Ox, Tiger & Rabbit instead. I guess they can wait til the next cycyle.

There we go, Dragon high relief mintage just gone up by 1000 from 7500 to 8500.
Go figure! Kill the high relief coin now.
The norm is from now on, all so called "maximum mintage or limited mintage" is expected to go up by 1000 down the road by way of different packaging.
