    Hi guys
I recently got given this 5 gram gold bar in a trade. I've never seen this styled bar before and was wondering if anyone knows what company/mint produced it and what era if possible.

It appears to be the right size, colour and thickness of a 5g bar but I'll have it tested with a PMV this week.

Any help will be greatly appreciated
    Cheers

How can you tell? Just wanting to learn, not doubting your judgement.

Any silver or gold that has "mills" on it is plated.

    Google "100 mills of gold"

They are all over eBay, you can pick a set of 5 up for $5.
