Just got my copy of AHA.Investor. The editors offers "Win a Kilo of Silver!" The online form to enter, is incongruent with the magazines published info. Hope it's me and not the magazine, because it would be mean if the magazine was to fault, especially towards my 15 year old son, I'm educating about silver, who was unable to fill the form?
Oh so why did my local newsagent display an out of date AHA? And is the new comp only advertised in AHA 2?
You are quite honored that your newsagent had a copy. Went hunting to lots of newsagents to find mine. It's the current issue. We are currently waiting with baited breath for the new one.
Not the point they are promoting a comp and I trusted them and their online entry is inconsistent with their "hard asset" mag . This is a legal issue I don't give a fig's leaf about being honoured to spend my money for AHA
I noticed their website did have 1kg silver competition form up long after the competition was supposed to have ended, which I thought was a bit strange. Was a winner announced?
On page 15 and page 56 of issue 1 there is no closing date that is published. Furthermore the giveaway registration no published in issue 1 of mag is a different no. on the web site. Also the company advertised via comp via issue 1 is The Gold Co, and web is Perth Mint. If I cant work this one and neither SS responders how should my 15 year old son ? Not happy please help
Issue one is clearly marked February/March. It's April now. There is an issue that no closing date is mentioned on the competition page, or in the detailed conditions on page 56. That would seem to imply that the competition would end on the last day of March. So you are right to assume that you need to get your mitts on Issue 2 to enter the next competition. Hopefully we will see this issue soon. The new giveaway is 10 gold coins, whereas the first one was for a silver bar. Just a bit of patience. You've got me keen to enter now too.
Seems like there is issue 2, which is why there is confusion. As I said, I found issue 1 at my newsagent 3 days ago, and issue 2 was not displayed. I guess these guys need to get their distribution of current magazines, available as they become available. Will write to the editors directly with my complaint. Thanks all.
Issue 2 is not being released for a few more days - a magazine is considered "current" until the next issue is released. Can't see how the newsagent selling a magazine dated Fed/Mar in April is the editors fault? Once the magazine goes into the hand of the newsagent, it's well beyond their control.
I can only assume that this post is a joke otherwise why would someone get so heated over such a minor matter when the issue was clearly for the previous month? As a member of Silver Stackers you surely would have noted the AHA Investor link at the top? Click on it and you get details of the forthcoming issue - including the gold competition.
Heck, once the magazine leaves the Printer that baby is out of my hands! Hi guys! Mosh emailed me the link with a question so I though't I'd come here and try & give some answers. Couple of things - Firstly, thanks for flagging the issue. If you ever have a problem with anything we do at AHA, let me know. If it's something we can resolve, we'll do our best. If it's not, we'll do our best to help you understand why. Distribution is more art than science. Printers over or under-deliver early or late, Distributors play fast and loose with on-sale dates, truck show up early, or late - you name it. Despite all this we over-achieved our targets for the first issue, and that's down to many of you - so thanks for your support. As always, if you can't find a copy, just email the publisher - I'll do my best to help you find a local newsagent that stocks it. Our current issue is April/May. The competition in this one closes end of May, and we have 10 mini-roos of gold going to one winner. (Sorry I couldn't get you 10 ounces guys!) The previous competion has closed. The Kilo of Silver has been won; understandably we will not be emailing the winners' name, address etc etc to everyone. A more generic congratulation is scheduled for this weekend; along with a more private notification to the winner. Now the feedback from the market and from the organiser is all positive. So we'll DEFINITELY be doing the kg of Ag again in the future. Our next issue is due out this week, god willing. (Mosh let me know your address, I'll make sure your boy gets a copy early.) Thanks again to everyone for your comments. I hope the above has answered your questions. If not, please email me through the s/stacker site; or at [email protected] Cheers All Mike W.
Thanks for the heads up. I lent my copy of the 1st one to a bloke @ work. Silly tosser has not returned it yet.
Well I didn't win the 1kg bar last month. So I think a complaint is in order. Anyone got the number of fair trading because it was obviously rigged. (jokes!) Great issue last month Fe Mike, I'm actually buying 2 copies of each issue - one for 'mint storage' of my own and the other to read at work and pass around the office and get my 'IP minded' work colleages thinking there's such a thing as investment outside of property. Can't wait for #2!!
