Hello Stackers, Maybe a bit strange that i am kinda lost and in need of some coin/round identification anyways below is a photo of a Canadian commemorative silver ( i believe it is silver ) dollar bought it on eBay more than a year ago and am not able to locate its silver content or any other info. writings on the coin/round AIR CANADA SILVER BROOM - COMMEMORATIVE DOLLAR Good for $1.00 in London Canada, expires March 31st 1981 BALAI D'ARGENT AIR CANADA CHAMPIONNAT DU MONDE DE CURLING
Sorry - they're just trade "dollars". Popular in Canada for lots of events. Mostly nickel plated steel or nickel. Collectible as a token, but I'm 99% sure if you throw that on an XRF (or do a SG test) it's not silver.
Yeah was thinking the same a lot of the "silver" dollars from the 80's in Canada don't have silver in them. Hard to say for sure.
Hey mate, most like what GP said: 1) The Air Canada Silver Broom -Refers to the curling competition 2) The only trade dollar I have seen to be silver was the 1981 Kitchener Waterloo marked .999 fine silver http://www.zwiggystradetokens.com/1981-kitchener-waterloo-ontario-trade-dollar-silver-p-p-428.html Although I couldn't find that exact coin so there is still a chance, Best of luck!
thanks for that the Kitchener coin also has the "expiry clause" and the value of $1.00 in Kitchener as my coin does, but the Kitchener coin has the 0.999 silver on it, and mine doesnt.
