Hi forum, I recently bought a few sets of Masterpieces in Silver online, was really excited until I found out that the cover of the display case is stuck to the box. :| I tried heating it with a hair dryer to loosen it up, wasn't much help. In the end I have to painfully remove the case from the box by force, the photos will show the damages. Here are my questions, what cause the cover of the case to be stuck in the box, what can I do to prevent this from happening and is there anything I can to now to remove the other sets from their boxes without damaging them. Cheers

A lot of those cases from that era suffered the same fate unfortunately. The outer shell seems to peel really easy. Npthing wrong with the metal though, just affects the aesthetics.
To answer your question, i can't offer any advice, sorry.

At least it wont really matter. The silver coins sell around spot anyway so the case doesnt matter. Lucky it wasnt a lunar 2oz anda box or something !

As already stated, this is very common for these from this era. Nothing you can do about it.
Just throw the boxes away and keep the coins.

If you REALLY want a nice box, keep an eye on ebay - there are often people listing empty masterpiece cases and boxes.

The bizarre truth is that many of the masterpiece coins actually go for MORE on ebay when listed individually in just a capsule, than in a full set with the box!

Exactly the same thing happened to my sets, nothing unusual. Just poor quality packaging.

It's actually RAM, I think they didn't do their research well enough. At least there isn't such issue in later years.
