Hi Thor122, What you appear to have here is the "old style" NGC holder "#17" which according to the information posted was utilized between 2004 & 2008. NGC has upgraded their holders over the years and I know what you are looking and referring to when you relate to the "arrows" where the two halves of the holder meet at the seam. These "arrows" are on the newest NGC holders for sure but I don't think so on the old style holders. I will look today and let you know what I see as I have a SS Republic "Shipwreck" coin arriving in an old style NGC holder. Looking at the coins, label and holder I believe what you have is authentic. What I do when I get a coin in an old holder like what you have is send it in to NGC to be reholdered in the new style "edge viewer" Hope this helps !
Those gray marks you see on the white part of the slab are very common in the old and new slabs. It's just part of the material. As for the slab, it does not look tampered with. In all honesty, it is incredibly difficult, if not nearly impossible, to open an authentic slab without altering it to a point where it would look original again.
Good point Derrick after I posted I realized I should have alluded to this. These slabs are virtually impossible to break open and assemble back together without any signs of tampering. I have never tried to put a slab back together after I separated it but I have busted out enough coins from their slab to realize that a slab looks like Jeffrey Dahmer had a go at it after it's been broken in to so it's impossible to remove a coin from one of these and reassemble without notice.
thor ... I just looked at two of the old style NGC slabs and they are identical to yours at the seam.
Thank you very much for your help. I think is a lot of job replace the coin. I think the coins are real. But i think they change the ms69 for the other ms or details because the plastic have burning in the seam. But i only have the new ngc holders and when comeaux confirm he slab have the same close. I think its real. If im living in usa i will resend it to ngc. But here its a crzay. Thanks for your help
Yep those are real coins and capsules. I don't think those are burn marks on the holder. That rough spot is likely where the different parts of the capsule separate from the molds they are produced from.
They look fine to me as well, I have only seen pictures of fake slabs and the ones I saw actually had some spelling errors on the back side print but I assume we will see more sophisticated ones in the future.
