    Hello!

    I found out about silver a few months ago and have learned a lot by reading around on this forum. Just thought I would stop lurking and say hi :)

    Im only young so I can't afford heaps of silver but I am aiming for 100oz by the end of the year.. hoping the price doesn't go up much higher...

    Anyway I have a few questions, sorry if I sound like a noob or if these have been asked before.

    What does "bump" mean on the sales threads?

    What is the little plus/minus thing next to each comment? is it like an upvote/downvote kind of thing?

    Here's a really noob question... How do I work out the average price of ounces of silver or shares if I were to buy at different prices.
    eg: I buy 2,500 shares at 22.5 cents, that share then crashes and I buy another 20,000 shares at 2.9 cents. How would I work out the average cost of my now 22,500 shares?

    Take the total cost (money you've spent) and divide it by the number of units (ounces or shares).

    e.g.

    (2,500 shares * $0.225 = ) $562.50
    +
    (20,000 shares * $0.029 = ) $580.00
    =
    $1142.50
    /
    22,500 shares
    =
    $0.0507 per share (average)

    Learning how to cost average is a very good skill to have.

    Welcome.

    Don't think asking what "Bump" means is a silly question.
    I have been here about 4 months and I only found out the other day by asking.:D

    A good idea is to set up a spreadsheet for cost averaging.
    Mine has all my purchases including the Weight of Silver & Postage.
    I include the silver content in my Pre-Decimals as well.

    All the best with stacking to your goal of 100oz by Christmas.
