    Hi ,

    my name is Antonis and happy to be with you. I m collecting gold coins and my favorite is sovereigns.
    I got involved with them because of the financial crisis here in Greece, first with bullion value sovs, but after
    sometime i found out the high value of sovereigns of older dates "mostly Victoria and shields" that are my favorites.
    Hope to get and give knowledge with you all :)

    My wife's family are from Kymi, they are glad to be in Australia now! Sovereigns are popular in Greece, my father-in-law used to get paid in gold sovereigns because he did not trust the drachma after he lived through the hyperinflation as a child.

    It is a good hobby you have, but an expensive one, I heard that at the height of the global financial crisis gold sovereigns were selling for many times their value as people tried to get rid of their euros.

    Hope things pick up for you soon.

    Can we get some sort of consensus on the spelling of Yiassou?

    Actually my wife's name is spelt wrong on half her id papers, an eta instead of a iyota, or something like that.

    On the plus side, after ten years together I no longer have the urge to say "it's all Greek to me!" No one laughed anyway.

    Its great that we are starting to get members from different countries in the world, who are willing to share information and knowledge from the point of view of someone who is in gold & silver.

    and Greece is one of the focal points globally.

    also Sovereigns are an excellent choice.
