Can anyone tell me if there's any good reasons to stack hand poured bars?
So far I've only ever bought machine minted bars and rounds/coins.
Mints like Sunshine and OPM machining bars with anti counterfeit measures.
This seems like a good advantage for stacking machined bars.

Do handpoured bars have any advantages in any way or do some people just like the primitive rustic look and that's all.

Personally, I see no reason to buy the ugly blobs but I think some stackers may like ugly, dull, often pitted lumps of metal. :)

Personally love holding hand poured bars.

And yes there is a market for hand poured bars, which may appreciate better than a minted bar.

Some stackers like hand poured because they are home made and a "one off".
Others stack hand poured bars because of their rarity and because they were made by a manufacturer no longer around,
so over time could fetch an increase in premium.

See this (old) post from Maggie about some of the collectable names

There are some interesting threads by members here that are hand pouring own bars too.
Hand pours are just another niche some people find interesting.
If your comfortable only buying machined bars with anti counterfeit measures.. nothing wrong with that.

    Handpour with individual characters.
    Still prefer the old ways.

A minted bar looks nice when it is brand new, however put an old minted bar next to an old poured bar and the poured bar has flair and character and the minted bar just looks tired and old.
