Payback by TPTB for all the protests of the late 60's and 70's. The feminists movements, black rights, gay marriage, anti-war protests and the mass strikes of the late 70's early 80's that crippled western countries. Thom Hartmann reveals that even before the declaration of independence in America, 'free thinkers' were discussing the burgeoning middle-class and the problems that would arise if they became too weathly and too many. Hartmann argues that today's student loans debacle started with Ronald Regan who begrudged paying for free college to students that would only strike against him. Since the 70's real wages have effectively fallen and the middle class's number have been systematically culled.
