F2F sure does solve a lot of problems, deals with things going missing in the post as well. 12oz would cover the cost of postage quite nicely!
You can avoid capital gains taxes if you do it right. Here, at least. VAT is another issue, but again, that's not paid if you don't take delivery.
Me too! Not all though, just about 1/4 of my original gold stack. would hate to swap it all and then see the GSR go to 75.
It's 1 may. A theory could be that the remembrance of 2011 causes alot people now to hesitate. The Comex position is low, not a decade recordlow, but still the same low of the middle of the 2008 crash. ETF shareholders sit on silver and barely moved during the entire multiyear price drop, except for some more adding in its begin. Mint coin sales, also still same. The Comex depositories, that saw their silver stock increasing from 112 Moz end 2011, to 185 Moz earlier this year, see since some weeks a fast outflow, back to 174 Moz. That is very fast, I didn't verify it yet, but it appears to me as the fastest change I monitored so far. If a gradual uptrend related to a gradual price downtrend, then the opposite could be true for a gradual price uptrend (or maybe at least a hold) So I almost decided to buy a next chunk silver (2 kilohorses is what Ive left) today. But that unknown element pesters me, the one that brought silver down last year, from $27 to $23. No dropping coin sales, no dropping ETF stocks, no dropping Comex position (the latter even supported the price, as indicated by their even higher position at the $22 price than at the $27 price and no change in the Comex depositories stock trend. It could have been newly produced silver from 2012, since the price held there despite the increased supply. But I can't say anything about 2013 because Silver Institute didnt release them yet. Maybe the reason for the big doubts 'round here haha.
I'm gonna do my best to have the discipline to wait hours upto days. It would be only for a couple kilocoins so if I've missed something, ohwell. On the multiyear term, I don't see reason to hurry. So don't count on me to hold $19!
I thought you already bought some kilo coins prior to this drop? Would love to see a stack of your kilo coins though!
I bought 5 kilo lunars a couple months ago, when spot price revisited $19.5, but dealer spread dropped relative to the previous times. I decided to buy another 5 for a next purchase, but the dealer had only 1 since a month, and I chosed to buy those AOCS etc coins from my topic about Mulligan Mint, much less silver, but what I like more, and I gave the latter more importance this time. At the moment, and current price, I have only fiat left for 2 kilo lunars. And the funny part is, two days after my AOCS purchase, the dealer has at least 10 (didnt try higher) lunar horses again in stock. The unexpected, that's life eh. On the other hand, sometimes circumstances make you do decisions that later on turn out to have been the best. I don't regret the alternate purchase. The more I think about it, the more reason I see for it to end better. Despite they seem to be considered crap here, they possess alot properties of what later on turns out to be a sought-after. I can be wrong of course, the line between reality and wishful thinking is narrow.
Funny thing is the kilo lunars are abundant over here . So much so there is a special price if you buy 5 pieces of the kilo snakes. Can go as low as 730 AUD per piece!
I should have specified horses, it seems like those sell way more than koalas and others. Actually, the dealer sent me 5 koalas instead of the ordered horses, then confirmed error, then asked me if I wanted to keep them (and receive a peanut compensation on a next purchase) or swap them. I chosed to swap of course. Koala's don't interest me a penny, and apparently, as the empty stock everytime illustrates, others also prefer horses above koalas. Alot dealers give quantity reductions, on about all their silver products.
Yeah I know. Earlier this year I played with the idea to suspend silver purchases till I can buy such a 10 kilo coin. But since, I realized it's not worth it, the premium is so outrageous that it overshadows the design, leaving just the coin size element. I have a lunar rabbit 10 kilo coin because I wanted all the sizes, as a series, hoping it would be worth more than the separate coins. And I prefer rabbit theme above horse theme so that helped the decision. But a 10 kilo coin is an expensive pay for a rather more gimmick than numismatic element, not justifying purchasing quantities. One can buy 14 kilo coins for the same price as a 10 kilo one. It needs quite some other reasons to undo that.
I wanted a 10kg Dragon coin to complete my bullion range but also didn't see the value in paying that much. The kilo coins are ok but at that size I would probably just get bars.
