Hi, I had been an avid reader of silver stackers forum. I joined to learn more regarding precious metal collecting and stacking. I love collecting precious metal, natural gem stones, paper bills and stamps. There are lot of philippine silver/gold commemorative coins from 70s though they are not so popular around, Our remarkable local gold and silver coins are under US and Spanish time from 16th century to 1945. Any information you need regarding our local coins, i am always willing to assist. Thank you and keep stacking.
Welcome! I am a Philippine ex-Pat. The only Philippine coins in my collection/stack are: a) 1868 Filipinas 4 Peso gold (from my father who got it from my grandmother) b) 1972-1977 Pilipinas 5000 Piso New Society - 5th Anniversary gold (acquired here in my adopted country)
Hi House, Good to know you will be in my country, i will be in the Philippines from December to January, i will be glad to meet you in Manila if you passing. Just give me a buzz, i will give you my number if you like, i am now in Costa Rica for a work. maybe we can have acquaintances then. Just Let me know early before you go, Thanks.
Hi Trozau, I think it is an Isabel Gold Coin, have you tried to find the the 1 peso and 2 peso. They are still available in our local numismatist but very few sells, If you will find, they are so inflated price. That is the reason why i do not collect the Isabel, I planing only to swap if i can catch an auction in our local club. The 500 new society, very few has it. i am looking them at UK too because it is very expensive in Philippines but still can find it with our local collector if you have a deep pockets. Have you visited back the Philippines? I been in Melbourne 3 years ago, I visited Goldstackers and bought some of my silver coins. I started to collect all our silver commemoratives. The latest Gold commemorative now is the papal visit, it is 25K php but BSP hoards it, very fortunate people has it. now they are selling for 35K, I ordered to BSP 4pcs but i am not lucky to receive their stub. Thank you Trozau for a warm welcome, nice meeting you here.
Welcome! I like Philippines coins starting from 70s, and do collect silver from the country. In my view coins are underpriced and will go up in value as all other Asian countries do.
