Have you heard of this news? A significant gold buyer, THR and Associates, was topic of a CBS inspection which found its buyers were drastically low-balled consumers on the price of their gold pieces. Since that report aired several months ago, investigations have begun to the company's dealings and the company has stopped its procedures. According to SmartMoney, more than 200 complaints have been made to the Better Business Bureau and state authorities about THR and Associates. They aren't the only gold buyer accused of running a gold buying scam; the BBB received 591 complaints about gold dealers last year, a 1,000 percent increase from 2007.
