    Well apart from the fingerprinting, selling gold is supposed to be the same as selling any other second hand item to a second hand licensed goods dealer - which means photo ID and your identity recorded, and the goods retained for a period of X days depending on your state in the event of them turning out to be stolen.

    I've seen the accumulated stockpiled purchases of a kiosk chain before stacked in their "cooling off period" tubs.
