    G'day, just a quick message to let you know that the scamers are at it on eBay. There was a dodgy item (1oz Suisse Pamp gold) for a $1650 buy it now price. I suspected it was dodgy because of the low price plus the person had no feedback. I thought what the heck so I bought it and paid with PayPayl.
    They offered free postage and handling so I emailed them to say I would pay extra and get the item mailed registered, No reply plus the email address was a hotmail addy. First thing this morning hopped on the computer and still no reply from them so I cancelled payment and saw that the person was no longer registered with eBay. Yes the transaction was too good to be true but because I used payPal it was easy to cancel before they were able to transfer the money out of their account into their bank.
    Lessons learned, always be aware of people with little or no feedback;
    Even if they have lots of feedback check what the items were,
    Beware of hotmail or gmail email accounts
    If it's too good to be true it probably is

    Yeah saw that one. Pretty sure there was another account a couple of days ago with a 24 hour listing for a similar price, 0 feedback. Serial number looked very familiar

    Seen a few recently on Ebay.Almost all of the auctions are only have one day duration and the currency is in U.S dollars.The pictures were taken out of the previous listings especially from Ebay U.S. and the funny thing is if you google it with the same heading you'll get the 'real item' sold on ebay recently.

    I've had a similar experience but haven't followed through with the purchase. I won some gold coins (with free postage) for about $650 under the spot price. I offered to pay extra (as i would have hated to be in their position) but never heard back. Still receiving the eBay automatic payment requests but have not sent the money as i do not think that the seller would send me the goods. The paper trail may look bad on my behalf but at least i know that i keep my money.
