    Greeting SS,

I just wonder whether red rust spot on gold coin can be cleaned/removed?
is this 'the milk spot' on gold coins?

Copper spot.. NGC can remove it by 'baking' the coin (based on what I've heard, may not be accurate).. but don;t try this at home lol!

I sent two gold pandas with red spots to ncs/ngc. The two became ms68 gold spot free.

I had a Gold Panda last week with a small red spot on the rim, this coin had come straight out of a OMP,i touched it up with some acetone and it disappeared,,had a time trying to find nail polsh remover in the house that actually had acetone as an ingredient as some are acetone free

I sent 5 pandas in with brown/red spots. One had an amazingly large brown blob on the head.

All came back MS69 and all spot free.

I would not do it myself if the coin is numismatic, NCS does it for a pretty cheap/fair price imo.

If it is a bullion bar I would try acetone or something since Gold is pretty stable unlike silver.

Thank you all for sharing different methods of removing the red spot on the gold. I have tried many methods but I failed. Thank you.
