Forgive me if this question has been raised before but my forum search didn't yield a specific response.

Does anyone know where (in WA, preferably) one can take a coin to have its condition and value determined?
I have an 1887 5 pounder and would like to get an "official" idea as to it's condition.

Ive a coin specialist in the area, but they're "by appointment only" and chiefly deal with rare Aussie coins only.

    Cheers.

Try speaking to Andrew from Sterling and Currency.

I have spoken to him a few times and he has always seemed reasonable to deal with.

    He knows his sovereigns.

    Good luck

Thanks for the rec, Elemental - Andrew seems like a reasonable place to start.

Dollars - duly noted. Thanks, friend.

Quick followup: I went and spoke to a chap called Mickel Smits on level 1 in London Court (closer to where I work).
He was very personable and forthcoming with info. Would recommend SS'ers to call or pay him a visit.
