Had this raised by another member: Picked up this coin a while back supposed to be 22k gold, came with COA and everything, however the certificate states "22 Caract Gold (.925)" As the other member mentioned, it should be .916 for 22 carat gold and not .925 There's not much information on the coin, however I did find another one auctioned on noble.com.au - http://www.noble.com.au/auctions/lot?id=244299 So I'm wondering if anyone else has one of these or have any information on the coin? and if RAM made a printing error or did I pick up a dodgy one
The Commonwealth Bank Annual Report 2003 reference a DV Murray, if that is of any help as to era made. http://www.commbank.com.au/AnnualReport2003/crep_dirrep.html
That is minimum of, not mandatory. The stated purity (hallmark) must contain minimum amount. However, if the minted coins accompanied with COA is normally described/stamped .916 then you have yourself a rare piece. An error may of been made, but your due diligence will conclude this is the case. If it is any consolation, they also stuffed up the wording on the COA (re:alloy). Alloy of what? Gold is not an alloy of gold. They are suppose to depict whether silver or copper is the alloy et cetera. . .
