Just was thinking... with all the serious discussions lately we need to have a lighter moment.
Latest moment of insanity came when I admit to purchasing 2 royal wedding 1 oz silver coins...I'm a sucker for getting swept up in the whirl-wind of it all. What's your confession???

A gold bar with a very silly premium for no other reason than I liked the design (last week).

Well, I collect coins for my hobby not just for investment so anything for my collection is frivolous.

The most recent waste of money was 10 American Open Currency Standard (AOCS) 1AV copper rounds. I am getting nine different issues so it is an instant collection!

Paying around US$30 by the time I add postage from USA so probably not the cheapest way to buy copper. However, when SHTF I can use them for bartering, apparently as they all have a dollar value.

Last copper round I bought was the Ron Paul Liberty Dollar which managed to escape the FBI raid, US$13, cheap at the time as I bought it from the UK and there wasn't much action on the auction, the same thing was selling in USA for around 3x that price so I still got a bargain

2009 1oz Tuvalu Megatron Transformer coin for $90. I got it for my son, It is supposed to be worth it, but it looks just like any 1 oz Kook or Koala apart from the Megatron picture. It makes me wonder if Silver went to $100/oz, would I be able to sell it for $200?

Mayan Calendar coin. I got 4 of them.

After that I gave myself a stern talking "you are an investor, you are NOT a coin collector!"

Few weeks back I saw a coloured 2011 rabbit and I think spot was somewhere near 41.
It was in a glass case though and I couldn't tell if the price sadi '47.50' or '41.50' nor could I hold the coin for closer inspection. I asked a girl in the shop she said '41.50' so thinking it was a steal I said I would take it. Had a nice PM case, I bought it thinking it was a specimen at nigh spot. I got home took it out to look at it, and discovered it was a coloured rabbit alright,
a half ounce coloured rabbit. ... a newbie error to be sure, blinded by my excitement.

It's OK though, I had a really nice buy yesterday.

Last wednesday I bought some chicken twisties and one of those mars bars which are all caramel.

Got them at a high premium above spot as I bought them from a Night Owl 24hr convenience store.

They wouldn't event bargain or haggle on the price cos they said "try n buy em somewhere else"...Cos it was 2am they kinda had me over a barrel.

Am still content with my investment
