I walked by a coin shop and there displayed gilded panda coins from 2007-2010. I search internet but only scarce information available. I worry whether they are genuine. Any information on gilded panda including mintage? Thanks!
Hi 25Grizzlies and fishball Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes. That means they are not officially produced and strictly speaking not authentic? Just leave them and don't think about them?
Not officially produced as far as I know. I hear they originate from Europe but I'm not 100% sure. I would leave them and buy expo pandas if you want gilded.
The expo pandas are very sought after, yes I would consider them. They have yuan values and as such are genuine Pandas. Whether or not the ones you have seen are genuine you will have to determine foor yourself
There are no 2007-2010 expo panda coins. There is a 2008 Gilded Banknote printing coin which is gilded but I don't believe yan is talking about that.
Thanks 25Grizzlies and fishball. You are absolutely correct! The vendor told me that they got the coins from Germany. In fact, they have gilded Canadian wildlife too! What I can say is the gilding finishing is so sophisticated and flawless. I can see every fine details and well contained inside the animal but not crossing the boundaries. I believe the coins themselves are genuine too. I think I have got the answer. Thank you guys!
Yes i saw a few in ebay. When i begin collecting pandas. But the collectors think is they are damaged. Bullion coin with after gilded. I think the gilded in germany. Because a lot of sells are from germany.
