Because of low demand for sugar and smokes from a number of ppl on the forum expect the prices to be dropping and backing up the truck.
    Seriously now:
Doesnt it make sense to stock up on these as these are comfort products and the worse things get wont ppl run to alcohol ,smokes, coffee, sweets to try forget about their problems. All of the previous can be kept for a long time without expiry, and considering what government keeps taxing more and more it seems to be smokes and alcohol. In SHTF scenario a cigarete might even b more valueable then a piece of bread.
PS. Not that there is anything wrong with ppl trying to quit sugar or smoking :)

Geez, talk about cashing in on folk's misery!

Sadly though, I think you might be right enough.

But it still seems to be a somewhat ghoulish 'investment' in that one would actually HOPE for times to get harsh so that you can reap your rewards.

It doesn't sit very well with me tbh....I guess I'm not cut out to be a businesswoman. :/

    Oh honey...that's different! ;)

That is a form of sustenance not just for 'recreational/feel good' purposes.

I was thinking more along the lines of stacking legal drugs e.g. alcohol, tobacco, caffeinated products as making one out to be a bit of a vulture. IYKWIM.
