I see that the Ainslie online store is closed. I cant even access the Perth Mint page for buying silver online... Anybody else see a pattern here?? lol - since all the bears are coming out of hibernation now calling it the "mania" stage, i'll also start calling names now and i think a good one may be the "decoupling" stage where physical decouples from the paper (spot) price... Good luck trying to get physical at 10% discount! lol
I would call it the delusional stage as stackers are calling premiums as though there was no correction. I am ready to buy too but people need to be realistic
BB is good to go as well as ABC. I saw that Perthmintbullion is undergoing site maintenance but it could be just that. I understand that they dont operate like typical metal retailers in the sense of how they acquire their metal.
ainslies are closed for stocktake today & tomorrow they had a message on their site last week. they were open yesterday for trade which i posted in another thread for people to order .Perth mint is conveniently still offline . If all else fails buy from the US theres plenty of places there that ship here for bulk orders gainsville coins & westminster mint are 2 that i have used before with no problems .Now with our dollar at $1.10 its cheap even after postage you will get it cheaper than anywhere here both sell at about $1 over spot on generics. People need to realise that silver is available the world over & australian dealers are not the end of the line Gainsville have a $75 fee plus 25cents an oz rate & westminster have a $50 per 240 oz rate .I have only bought in bulk but im sure they would sell smaller lots some have a $1000 minimum buy which isnt much Im all for buying australian & supporting our dealers but if you want it & they cant supply it then go elsewhere & buy it at a premium that is where it should be not blown out to the max because they can ..thats my 2 cents worth im in it for ounces & nothing else.. maybe get a group buy going if you cant afford a bulk purchase
Ainslie is having a stocktake that's why it is closed. I just bought a kilo bar yesterday at spot at these "reduced prices". It's all about patience and hiho is right some people have delusional premiums
BOTH Perth Mint websites are down - I'd say the numismatic online shop/corporate site is unintended, as there's new coin releases being made today - my guess is whatever maintenance is happening on the bullion site has accidentally borked the corporate site. If you really want to lock in prices, Perth Mint phone trading might still be operational for Depository clients, or you could "lock in" prices using ETPMAG on the ASX, and then dispose of it in future when physical is available somewhere. Consider it a hedge.
Thanks for that Renovator. Do you have any issues with customs trying to charge you GST though when it lands in Australia?? Thats been the big thing thats put me off importing bullion from the US...
I've ordered 10oz in before no tax, no duty, they didn't even open it. I have heard on this forum it gets tricky when over $1000AU.
I heard theres no GST but theres a $60 customs processing fee... It's just so annoying I wouldn't buy from OS unless I was doing it in bulk (where purchase > $1000).
ABC Sydney are having lines of at least 2 hours long yesterday and today. I think this will get worse as more people want in. I gave up after 10 mins, going to source my gold coin elsewhere. Slam
