And probably indicative that the death of democracy is commenced in the cradle of democracy.

    Defining the "Godwin Factor" as
1/(number of posts or comments until Godwin's Law applies)
then this blog entry has a Godwin Factor of 1.0 :p

I wonder who really wanted to take control over the greek finances. Even if they made a 100% haircut and Greece was debt-free today, they would start making new debts tomorrow. It simply does not work. And seriously, who wants to be responsible for that?

would they though? If Greece tells them all to go jump and 100% defaults, not only will that set off banking events that will make it hard for any country to keep fuelling more debt, but who will be stupid enough to lend Greece money under the drachma?

No matter how this plays out Greece will get what it deserves.

    Look over there, Iran!

People need to wake up and realise the bankers are scammers creating money out of thin air
and trying to seize control of hard assets using debt as slavery

a quote accredited to Amschel Rothschild the founder of the greatest scam in the world .... and if that Keenan law suit filed in the USA is succesful, will expose banking for what it truly is ... an instrument of deception and tyranny

Wake up sleeple - why do you believe the bankers are legitimate?

I have been reading a bit on Rosthchild, MorgAn, Rockefeller etc over the last few days.

It appears that they will end up owning anything of physical worth by selling and trading worthless pieces of paper. Our politician's greed and money changers together will spell the end of society. We will end up becoming serfs to the.landowners and go back to the middle ages.

BTW put the exact same quote as GP gave out in my signature last night after reading up on the Rosthchilds.

For all the bashing of fractional reserve banking, keep in mind that you could still have the same system with a gold backed or even a physical gold currency..

As long as there exist loans and deposits at banks, there will exist fractional reserve banking.

How do you solve it? Easy. Every spare bit of cash you swap for gold til you have all of your 'spare' cash as gold. Every person does it and gets rid of their shares, bonds, futures and pretend wealth based on speculation, greed and the need for the great divide between the haves and have nots.

What do you get --- equality at its core. Everyone is thrown back into the melting pot.

What you lose ------ everything that a regulated free market has given us - creative companies driven by imagination and dreams to give us computers, ipods, aeroplanes and spacecraft, not to mention amazing new medical technologies and ways of producing food in many different conditions.

The bankers can be seen as scammers, but they also the ones who believed enough in some starry eyed kid with a dream and a bit of start up capital. I hate how money is continually created and eventually has to fail. But with our current minds, some people only run on the prospect of riches rather than doing it because they love it.
    ..I dunno :S

You are on the wrong thread. We are talking about reserve banking here, not a free market.

I deposit 100oz gold in a bank account (for which i receive interest), and they lend it out 90oz to someone who requires it, eg to buy a house (earning interest on the loan).
The borrower of the 90oz then pays for the house, and the seller of the house deposits 90oz in a bank, which then lends out 81oz... same process as with fiat.

Fractional reseve banking has been around since the invention of banks - which appeared shortly after the invention of money itself. Read up on the history of early finance in Ancient Greece and Rome.
