    Thanks everyone.

    Over the last few weeks I've been lurking around the site searching a heap of threads. I found the "Buying Silver In Australia" sticky here http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-880-buying-silver-in-australia.html thread very helpful for getting me on the right track.

    Actually I have just ordered 2 books (thanks to info found on SS):
    Michael Maloney's Guide to investing in gold and silver for $15, and
    How to Bury Your Goods - The Complete Manual of Long-Term Underground Storage for $7.
    I figure those 2 books should give me a bit more of an idea of how I want to go about my stacking......

    How to Bury Your Goods! Already? You have the paranoia that takes years to build up to!

    It is a slim tome but very useful, I read it and decided not to bury the silver, most of the book is about burying contraband but it would work just as well for silver, makes an interesting read. And brought up a few things I would never have considered.

    Mike's book is the best IMHO

    However another fantastic book is The Power of Gold: The History of an Obsession By Peter L. Bernstein (buy it through the SS link) Chock full of the fascinating history of gold. http://www.silverstackers.com/portal/index.php/bookshop

    I suspect you may get a lot out of The Alpha Strategy (also available through SS link but also as a PDF if you google it). Executive summary. Buy the stuff you need now and beat inflation. More to it than that of course.

    I've worked in the government for long enough to know that they're not there to look after/protect/represent us!

    Thanks Nugget, I just downloaded it and will have a read through it.
