Hi there fellow Silver Stackers! I'm from Melbourne and just joined the site.

I've been aware of this site for years/decades but failed to actively participate or join.
    Silly me!

I've purchased and collected random numismatic coins for the past two decades.
I've a few favourites that I've purchased for their uniqueness and appearance.
Though the majority as an investment with the hope they'd increase over time.

I now want to put an inventory of my small collection together and decide what is worth holding on for longer and what I may consider selling. How to find that out and where to go to do that.

Check prices on eBay then minus %15 to %20 for the fees. That should give you ball park.

Few years ago when I tried to sell here my George VI 1937 specimen gold proof sovereign set with its original box for AUD 5000 dollars nobody was interested, so I sent it to a US auction site where it was sold for 10,000 USD. This the reason I chose other on my voting, because my choice comes from real experience.

I chose EBay because it has a wider audience, numi ppl don’t really care about spot as much as Stackers. eBay sucks in many ways (fee’s/PayPal reversals etc) but without a doubt it gives access to a huge pool of interested buyers who are on the hunt.

Thanks for the tip projack. I'd be interested in learning what site you used if it still exists?

How time flies... it was back in 2014 and your ask was $7400. I would've gladly taken it if I'd been on the forum back then! :)

Yes it was $7400. I just calculated in USD, because that was the final price paid. The auction house is on the link above.

I sill have an even more valuable. The 1887 proof set, but that is not for sale
