For sale. 33 sterling silver medallions from the Mountbatten History of Great Britain & The Sea collection Struck by John Pinches in hallmarked sterling silver, and issued around 1974 They are beautiful medallions depicting various events in British maritime history. When originally released they came in a presentation folder however now they are loose in a box. As they were produced 46 years ago there is some toning on some of the medallions and as they were loose there would be some minor scratches on some and finger prints on others. They are however still a beautiful chronicle of British maritime history. The complete set consists of 100 medallions abut there are only 33 for sale here although I do have the complete set available if interested. Average weight of each medallion is 37.5g but due to the higher relief of some of the designs the actual weights of each can vary from between 36g and 40g which works out at slightly over 1 troy oz of .999 silver per medallion. Total weight of the 33 medallions, is 1.24kg of sterling silver which is just over 1.15kg of .999 silver. Asking price is $1060 which is about $1 over spot per medallion Postage is your choice and risk and I will only send within Australia. I will try to supply photo's, however I never realized until just now how hard it is to take a good photo of silver coins. Some of the details is quite fine however this is the best that I could do. The hallmark is tiny and hence it is a very ordinary photo, my apologies. If you have any questions then feel free to send a PM or ask here.
