My fave day of the week used to be Tuesday until I discovered the pricing phenomenon of Silver on Fridays. I now base my week and social life around today as it rarely makes for boring viewing. Im sure other mems share my fascination so feel free to post what you feel about Friday Smacks and their role in your life and whether you feel this week will be a SmackUp or SmackDown.
I think we'll be bitched slapped either way. A smackdown is beneficial in respect to purchasing, whilst a breakout justifies our faith in fundamentals. Conversely the smackdown erodes our faith and a breakout increases our costs. Of course if nothing happens, we are disappointed with the inactivity. I reckon the breakout will continue; AUD23.40 at close of business this weekend'
When the chart says "Market Closed" tomorrow morning. JW black label is a nice tipple I find. Helps sooth smacked around nerves.
Over the last 6 months I usually make my purchases on Saturday morning, after the smack down, the last 2 weeks though, it's been climbing, uh well time to log on and buy some more I guess, I am sure the smack down will come after I place my order!!
Friday trading, last week of month was a good one to watch. Settlement day for the big boys? Regards Errol 43
Aberlour and talisker for sure, or ardbeg or glen morangie lasanta. Favourite highland and speyside whiskey. Oh hell its australia day weekend go sullivans cove (french oak) or hellyers road. Couple of top shelf tassie whiskies
If you can get Sullivan's Cove I'd be very impressed. Managed to get one bottle but it sold out way too quick. Hellyers was nowhere near the expectations but Lark was that bit better.
I used to drink talisker in a wine bar near where I worked as a trainee in town when I was 17, they were the only place that would serve me but I was a terrible snob so it suited me fine. I would put on my suit jacket and try and act 25 and pretend like the $250 in my wallet wasn't my whole weeks wages. I don't drink any more (no real reason, just lost the urge) but I miss the taste of that stuff with a dash of soda.
I made friends with a couple people at my regular and over the years they recommended me to some nice drops and ordered a few in for me. The japs have a nice couple bottles also glenmorangie does 3 12yr bottles all made from the 10yr original with 2 yrs extra maturation in different casks. Im a sucker for most speyside single malts. Pretty much any drink starting with glen. Glen fiddich, livet, kinchie, moray, morangie, farclas And if you like the american stuff buffalo trace and elijah craig
I used to visit the highland park distillery in the Orkneys a lot in my younger days, still my favourite drop
