    Hi Everyone,

I have recently picked up a German (Prussian) 20 Mark gold coin and a Swiss 20 Frank gold coin from a local coin shop.

I really like the history of the coins as well as the cost being relatively close to spot.

I was just wondering where the best place to purchase these types of "bullion" coins is as I have not had much luck finding them on Australian sites apart from kjc bullion.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

I get all of mine on this site. Sometimes sovereigns and french roosters come up for sale at Goldstackers but usually if someone trades them in and they don't last long.

A few mints make modern restrikes of old coins, they have the look and feel of the old coins, often with dates from the 1800s, but are freshly minted. I have a few.

I am slowly putting together a set of the Latin Monetary Union coins as they are not too expensive and are a ni e snapshot of history.

    Good luck

I love the Latin Monetary Union coins and also the related ones from the time. I have a few myself :)

Best to keep an eye on the site as opposed to buying from storefronts.

Reason being is that the bulk of the coins you are interested in are .900 fine and therefore do not qualify as 'bullion' and will attract GST if purchased retail.
