was bored at home so i went out into the backyard of the new duplex im renting in and found 6cents the strange thing is, the property is only about 15 years old
Well as a non-Aussie and having seen/found enough 1c in my time here to not think of them as being rare, I'll claim justified ignorance What happened with Boyou?
My comments were just the usual ,kneejerk, pisstake response to an ambiguous post..in the time honored tradtion of SS Love your work ,House!
You can pick up plenty of cents in the shopping center carpark. No one cares for 5,10,20 in the carpark these days. Sometimes pickup at least total of $5 worth of gold coins. Not that sov coins. $1 & $2. Thinks you cant get much to buy a meal with $2 nowadays.
I've found a number of US coins when metal detecting - guess they're "play money" that's been handed out to kids and subsequently lost. My back yard turned up a couple of modern US cent coins, and have found a cent and a quarter at a local park.
The last 1 cent was produced in 2006 in mint sets. I doubt its one of them, but you never know,, I found 4 x 5c pieces in the front yard this week detecting. With a 705 / coiltek combo. That's a fantastic result considering its been detected dozens of times in the past. A Key date to keep in 1c is 1991 if you collect coins? The last year it was minted forcirculation and there where very few of them minted. 200k? it would put it a decade before you property was built but it took quite a few years for the 1c supply to dwindle. Another good date is 1985, and 1968 of course. Worth checking every coin. Even a trashy 68 is still worth $5 any day of the week. The last holley dollar was found in Tasmania with a metal detector and sold for $100000. Sydney is even older than down here. You would have a few laying around for sure. Farm cove, the Rocks even under the bridge would be worth a shot. All the hill under the observatory. Are you allowed? i doubt it. fun police. Fort Denison... ! Around the heads. wish i was there sometimes.
