Forum outage this morning was due to a database table corruption issue which led to the duplicate threads and error messages. Quick database repair and reindex and we're back to squeaky clean. Just one of those things.
Official reason is a memory failure on a RAID storage adapter card at the hosting provider - new DIMMs were installed to resolve the problem, however there was an impact to the integrity of the Silver Stackers database which has since been resolved.
Some threads are missing i.e. Silverlake Resources (SLR) thread, people were posting on it yesterday, in the Stocks forum also the CCU thread is missing There might be a broader issue
Personally I don't think SStkers Facebook page should be left derelict on traumatic occasions such as today
I missed the forum today. Had to find something else to do. So the grass got moved and the washing done.
LOL... I have absoulutely no idea what he's talking about.... throw him into the pond...burn him at the stake!!!
A number of threads are gone - not sure at this time but it looks like threads started by former members who have had their accounts closed were impacted - hence the Today I Bought thread is gone. Looks like some recent threads that users posted to after the corruption started were also lost in the recovery. There are backups, but to be honest I won't be rebuilding a parallel version of the site database to export and recover a few threads.
I reread the entire SLR thread yesterday. Seems it may be gone for good now. Probably the best example of good timing I've managed to execute since I started buying stocks. =D
Any chance of just getting that one without spending too much of your time? It's one of the popular ones.
