Heard the saying a can of worms :)

First impressions it looks in pretty good nick and the seller has many listings this gives me some idea they have a reputation to uphold.

Secondly you really need to know yourself what to look for Roman coins are a whole other section of Numismatics in itself and there are many variables. Luckily there is also plenty of reference material if you want to get right into it. They offer some pretty good prices to get into such old history.

Good luck I would say this is real ,however is it's value worth that BIN price ? That is the question now.

I wish you wouldn't link coins like that. I have a soft spot for historical things and roman coins absolutely pique my interest.

I'll refrain from bidding out of respect... this time ;)

Seriously though, you'd need to have the coin examined by people who do that for a living. It would need to be certified and assayed through industry experts to validate the coin heritage. It's a roughly minted coin (they all were back then) so it's not beyond even the modern backyard operator to commission a die made and then press their own coin to this very standard.

Nice buy, I got a 5AD Byzantine back in the UK while I was home for xmas, cost me 40 quid but it is absolutely stunning!

I wonder if there'll be any nice historical coins this weekend...

When it's marked 43BC, you know it's a fake!
