Spend any vouchers you have "NOW" just in case :)

People are just not spending or do not have the extra cash spare. Many more to follow I reckon.

Yep. Wife and I have been using up the ones we received for Christmas from relatives - only one to go and we're card free.

Oh no, i've had one of their cards for nearly a year now. Their stores are mostly in the biger shopping centres so i never go there.
Will have to make a trip soon i guess. Hope they don't want to charge me like Borders were doing.

Unfortunately Willaims and Mathers used to make great shoes...I recently tried to replace an old pair only to find they'd could only be bought at a separtate "Williams only" store at a DFO (used to be a brand carried by most shoe shops).

Furthermore my stalwarts model had been replaced by flashier 'trendier' models that looked like they'd be more at home on the feet of a male prostitue. They'd obviously fallen into the same mistake that boarders/ Angus Robertson made in not stocking what their customers wanted.

Also, like the bookchain, they made the mistake of paying outrageous rents in the premium locations in shopping centres.

Not to mention Colorado's products are overpriced!

Pitty about Williams and Mathers though, deflation is a b!tch.

I hope Williams gets bought out and keeps operating at least. I buy my kids school shoes etc there. So hard to find decent shoes at a good price and the staff were always so helpful and gave me the best price they could.
They have had a few %off sales lately and good buy one get whatever cheaper or free. I guess that is a sign of a struggling business. Better watch out for that kind of thing.
Out local Westfield has a Colorado, Mathers AND Williams so I guess that will be three shops closing.

Maybe they'll merge and form an adventure-wear bookstore called Utah (what's left of Colorado Borders) :p

    I know, Dad joke.

If you work there you'd also better be very quick. ABC staff were denied their entitlements
