This week I cut my first Amethyst. Really happy with the result. I'm not a big fan of really dark Amethyst as there is not enough light refraction. So this pink/violet shade I found impressive. I've been cutting so many yellow gems, a change makes a difference. I also sold my first stone for a $170, and a local shop wants to sell some of my gems on consignment. I think my wife has enough gems to play with, so any surplus gems I cut I may as well sell to buy some other stones, discs, and pm's.
