Amazingly the Supreme Court refused to retry the lower court's decision where a judge found that the Fed had to disclose which banks they loaned cash to through the so-called "discount window" (lender of last resort) during the GFC.

So the Fed was ready to give up the fight, so the Clearing House Association picked up the torch, and lost!

Ron Paul might get his audit after all (the Senate threw out his "Audit the Fed" bill).

The Federal Reserve is being forced to discharge details about emergency loans made to Wall Street banks during the financial crisis of 2008. I read this here: Supreme Court forces Fed to fess up about discount window data to press. A Top Court decision on Monday sided with a news organization seeking information about banks using the Fed's "discount window" and the amount of money involved. The details about discount window loans join information from six other bailout programs the Fed is being directed to disclose.
