Recently come across this coin which I had never seem before, the quality looks decent however I couldn't find any information on line. Alarm bell start ringing when I put in the number in NGC went page and it comes up as "no coin was found matching that certification number". Any thoughts?
I know right, was certain it's genuine when I first lay eyes on it but NGC doesn't have it on their system. Serial: No link, the photos was taken by a friend
yeh I would love to see this in hand it could be real and rare but I would avoid unless I could hold it in hand and had a pmv machine

It's either fake or incredibly rare can't find this coin in any catalog - McDonalds or even Kruse if it is not fake then it might be a trial sample or something that never got made into a coin as Altima said, if it is a fake it's a bloody good fake
I'm probably being unhelpful, but is the "50" too close to the "Dollars", I thought it looked funny and searched up a few other sydney 2000 coins and it looks a bit different (although it's for $5 or $100 not $50) http://www.australianstamp.com/coin-web/aust/olympics.htm
nice link clones! it looks like a silver version of this http://www.australianstamp.com/coin-web/aust/hundred/20001hun.htm
At this stage we are vary certain its not a fake but have to contact the mint to get more information
