Both sellers have similar feed back for selling cheap Tibetan jewellery.
As we know anything can be faked especially coming from China.

If there is a flood of fake gulo gulos coming into the market this is not good news to the genuine gulo gulo owners.

If it's a dodgy listing it's quite possibly simply a scam, rather than a case of fakes being supplied.

It certainly doesn't mean they're fake coins, but I for one won't be buying to find out :D

I still think that there is potential of fake gulo gulos coming into the market. Might be a good idea to send mine into NGC for encapsulation. Just look at the recent listings from sellers with ZERO or ONE feedback hawking gulo gulo coins. I would be wary.

I wouldn't be surprised if fakes are being minted in China or Eastern Europe. It would be a very profitable venture. More profitable than fake pandas. Where else can you sell 1oz of silver for more than 1/2 oz of gold?

NGC won't grade the Mongolian wildlife series anymore. I recently enquired about grading and they said they were having trouble with the crystals in their holders so stopped grading them.

I think PCGS still grades them though.

I am so disappointed with these fakes. I don't have a Gulo Gulo, but I would like to buy one to complete my series and now I am scared they will be fake :(

    Alex.

More fake Mongolian Protection Series Coins coming from China?

Just look at the feedback. Seller has a history of selling cheap $1.00 jewellery and all of a sudden is selling the Gulo gulo and Mongolian Hedgehog. IMHO very fishy. I wish that NGC would grade these coins. I would send mine in in an instant.

The quality of these coins is so high a fake would be very easy to spot.
Anyone willing to spend $500 or more should know what to look for and ask for photos of the actual coin they are buying.

    Good Afternoon,

Thank you for contacting PCGS customer service.

Here is the answer for the coins you are questioning if we grade them or not.

Owl coin - yes we will do it, Zodiac coins - we would need to see if we can holder it without any problems and for the rest we cannot grade at this time. (other coins were belarus fairy tales)

Please let me know if I can further assist you.

    Thank you,

    Alisha Hackenberry
