That freedom comes at a price when you realise what's happening in his pants every time he thinks of you

    It goes way beyond that!

EU sanctions Russia in any way >>> Russia fights back with their own "sanctions"

And what can Russia fight back with the best?

Commodities, airspace use, getting rid of EUR & USD...

So, any hash sanction against Russia will reflect in the price of commodities in which Russia is king. That is Russia's biggest weapon.

The more they hit Russia, the more I expect commodity price to increase...

And, the West is also sanctioning Russia with exports. They are not exporting weapons and dual-use equipment to Russia and they're also hindering Russia from selling their own military equipment.
The EU is also blocking food exports to Russia, but Russian producers are already happy to have gotten rid of the foreign competitors. Also: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan etc. are happy to increase their exports to Russia.

So the EU is left with a bunch of unsold food products, which would have normally been exported to Russia.

    The sanctions are already backfiring.

What might happen next is: Russia will stop exporting various products like precious metals, uranium, natural gas... to the EU.

The EU pulls the shorter string. I don't know how they imagined the sanctions would "work". Russia has everything and can score every time.

It's like pulling the hair of a ferocious bear expecting this to hurt him and make him run away.

The Russian bear is always hitting back harder in this stupid trade war.

Shanghai Gold Exchange to launch international board http://www.mineweb.com/mineweb/content/en/mineweb-gold-news?oid=252838&sn=Detail

    BEIJING (REUTERS) -

The Shanghai Gold Exchange will launch an international board in the city's pilot free trade zone on Sept. 29 to attract overseas capital to invest in China's gold market, the bourse's chairman said on Thursday.

The bourse will launch three yuan-denominated physical gold contracts, of 100 grams, 1 kg and the bigger London gold delivery bar weighing 12.5 kg, Xu Luode, chairman of the exchange said at a precious metals conference in Beijing.

The exchange's progress is being closely tracked by the global trading community as gold is one of the first commodities that China is opening up to foreign players by allowing them to participate directly in physical trade and to use offshore yuan.

I feel sorry for those affected, but this is almost comical to watch unfold.

Putin plans things way in advance, the West just reacts. Remember when Russia seized the Greenpeace(?) ship and held the crew prisoner for months. Russia went outside of its territorial waters to seize the vessel. Why?

Answer. Holding the crew prisoner concentrated criticism against Putin/Russia to this one specific issue and sent a message to protestors not to screw with Russia. Then to show how generous Russia is, the prisoners were released right before Russia hosted the Sochi Olympics .

US 'disappointed' over Russia's corn & soybean ban

    https://www.rt.com/business/332117-corn-banus-disappoints-us/

During routine inspections last year Rosselkhoznadzor found dry rot in corn and numerous weed seeds in soybeans. The watchdog found 64 cases of bacterial contamination in US soybeans. In January 2016, it found another four cases of bacterial contamination, including a bacteria which does not exist in Russia.

Russia imported 300,000 tons of soybeans from the US from January to October last year. Earlier this month the watchdog said the possible cost of the quarantined goods sent to Russia is about 15 billion rubles ($188 million).

Russia plans to replace American soybeans with soybeans from Latin American countries, according to Russian Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev.

Pretty good example of the kind of BS putin has been using for years like his ban on Estonian bottled water years ago. Its one of the prime reasons Russia is an economic bust and always will be

Russia is and always will be a place of poverty and dictatorship where extortion from criminals with political connections is just a fact of life.Anyone who actually knows Russia or has lived there will tell you this.

All the internet propaganda in the world won't change the fact that the vast majority of Russians live in what would be considered unimaginable poverty in nearly all EU countries excepting perhaps Romania.

What kind of failed state has the same 'president' for 16 years anyway?

Keep banging that tired old ruskie drum though......the EU can do what it likes to Russia - it can't do squat and cut gas as it will be a bankrupt nation in months if it does....need the cash that bad you see.

It's well on the way to a failed state. How are those roubles doing for ya?

Maybe putin should execute a person publicly for criticising him to keep everyone in line.......but he's done that one already......best start another war...done that too...maybe more half wit bare chested photos or PR for ladas that can't start.

its an ugly picture looking from inside out, same everywhere.

Russia has a lot of resources and it is out from the control of the west, this is very dangerous to the Jews and in particular the only nuclear naval power capable to flatten all of Jews.

Direct and from Crimea. Russia is waking up, and putting the cash flow in much better shape than many small nations who submit to the west. In this aspect the Bear stand tall.

the counter sanction is working as well for a better Russia where there people can be free from communist Jews set up and the meeting between Patriarch at Cuba, hope for a better one there.

    There is no arrogance there.

Alor, I really hate to burst your bubble, but almost 1 million Israelis are first and second generation Russian with another 500 000 coming from former Soviet (Russian speaking) countries. I was actually in Israel over Christmas and there are entire streets where the only signs are in Russian and Russian language is all that is spoken. Russia is not rebelling against 'international Jewry' - it is just acting in its perceived self interest.

Also, Israel is one of the countries supplying Russia with fresh produce now it is under EU sanctions and has refused Turkish goods

Now I am not Jewish or Russian, so you haven't offended me - I just think what you have posted is plain wrong.

On the topic of sanctions though, it doesnt really make a difference here. All the European goods are brought to Belarus and just repackaged with 'Made in Belarus' before being shipped over the border. Who knew Belarus was capable of producing such nice smoked salmon and fine cheeses! :p
