SCAM post That is not the IPO Real website still shows feb 1st I guess if anyone sent bitcoins to that address they are goneski
For all the nous accredited to the developers of Ethereum they really need to get their front end by way of the forum and dispensation of news sorted quickly. The marketing and attention to detail for the un-virtual human interaction seems to be poorly lacking. Still no direct response to the attempted IPO fraud made public and nothing even on the forum yet denying it was real ? The technology might be testicles on an Anatidae but unless they quickly get some form of regular updates going for those who bothered to jump through the hoops to get on the forum and a credible source of news feed they might as well be announcing the release of Herpes coin.
You bet. It's beginning to become a great business to start "alt coins". Pretty soon every little store will have their own coin. You can make your own little alt coin with Coingen. After a while many will go bust. I don't know about this one, it might be worth buying some at the very start.
IPO Postponed They had a bigger response at the Miami Bitcoin conference than they expected and probably figure there might be much more interest than they anticipated. http://blog.ethereum.org/?p=100/conference-testnet-and-fundraiser-updates/
Careful of potential vaporware here. Not saying it is impossible, but building a secure Turing-complete scriptable money will be a huge undertaking. Bitcoin purposely has non-Turing-complete scripting for a reason. It has taken many years and many developers to get Bitcoin stable. Even then, Bitcoin has experienced unforeseen security issues. Bitcoin and altcoins are real tools available right now. I'll note that much of the altcoins code was derived from Bitcoin. Building something entirely new will be no easy task.
Very disappointed, Cashed out most of my alts today to Bitcoin to get ready for the launch. Had the day booked off work....Hope I can still get in when they finally decide to launch it. disappointed with the fact that they waited till just before the launch to postpone it.
if you invested 1 bitcoin in the ether ico which sold at 0.20 usa cents you would be on around $650K today, not bad for a 3 year return.
If you had invested $1000 AU$ at that time, your current value would be $1,840.000 in AU$. Please don't tell my Missus....
Sorry but it would be slightly less due to the exchange rate at the time but whats 14% of $1.840.000 when your initial investment is just $1000 ? Back when 1 USD = 1.1422 AUD
the ethereum ico took place between july and august 2014. bitcoin price at that time peaked at $570 USD so $651. the ico price was 2000 ether for 1 bitcoin. therefore your $651 aud investment would now be worth $720k assuming todays $360 sale price. plenty of variables to play with, note why so many have ether now to invest in ico's.
All this just amazes me to be honest. I am also looking to dabble in crpyto, not because i see it as a way of the future solely because the money being thrown around is incredible. It may be the way of the future or it could be a tulip situation but this is one of those YOU HAVE TO BE INTO WIN scenarios. Instead of spending a grand on a rugby game i'll happily throw it at some cryptos and get in on this lottery.
It can also be a case of double regret Gulli , Regret you didn't get in, or Regret that you did get in...as is possibly the case for many new entrants at the moment. What needs to be remembered is that a lot of people caution to only use money that you are willing to lose, and to have a bit of patience as well, don't ever forget that you can lose the whole lot. I would say to people, just get educated about all this first, actually learn what it is all about and then make an educated guess on how to lose the money you are willing to lose. I personally owe a debt of gratitude to Load of Bullion along with a few others such as Hyphenated for educating me on all this in the first place with endless Pm's back and forth which I now try to pay forward to others here. Along the way though think about this... The current Crypto market cap is now less than $100 billion, the global stock market alone is worth north of $80 trillion add to that the global precious metals and energy market. If just 1 % of that market transitions to Blockchain technology over the net five years where do you think platforms like Ethereum will go ? http://fstechadvisory.accenture.com/blockchain-is-top-of-mind-for-banks
