    Hi all,

I'm getting a bit of a bonus soon and I'd like to buy about 20x 1oz silver kookaburras or koalas with it. The problem is, I turned my back on the silver market for a month or two and now they're all gone! I can't find either Perth Mint coin anywhere online. I know that kookaburras are minted in limited quantities, but I thought koalas were unlimited. Does anyone know of a bullion dealer still selling koalas/kookaburras in 1oz coins? Are they gone until next year's minting or are the koalas coming back? Are there any good alternative coins or rounds in Australia I've maybe overlooked in lieu of the lovely kookaburras?

If they're not coming back, I should like to maybe purchase some silver bars. I'm wondering though (and I know this will sound weird), what's the most traditional size and shape for a silver bar?

There are always shortages depending on production runs. The 2012 Kooks are gone from what I have read, so you are left with Koalas, as for bars I know most either prefer 10oz or 1kg I reckon :) good luck

Kooks are sold out at mint but you should be able to pick them up for 37-42 a coin on here and many online dealers. Im sure some of the site sponsors have them on here.
Koalas you will have a whole 12 months to get them. PM have been quite busy lately but koalas youll be able to get very soon.
If no luck with site sponsors shoot me a pm

If you are in Perth you can still get 1oz Kooks at the mint.

The 1oz Koala will be available next month.

Yeah I was there today, I was seeing if they had any 1/2oz or 2oz coins and was surprised to be told all they had was 1oz Kooks just picked up a couple.

    Ha

I wish. Just got my first 2012 Kooka yesterday (thanks Goldstackers). Lovely coin. Kooka's are my favourite coins. I really appreciate the work that goes into their design.

My favourite collection is my budding gilded Series II lunar. Very nice. Series II lunar Bullion I'm hoping to flip at the end to fund the gilded. If not I'll have a very nice coin set to drool over

The 1kg I guess is the standard bar, though the 10oz bar is the easiest to move.
